Peter Bauer - Executive Director:
Peter joined the FUND in 2007 and brings a strong background in Adirondack history, environmental policy, and state politics. Before that he worked for over 13 years as the Executive Director of the Residents' Committee to Protect the Adirondacks. He worked on the staff of the Commission on the Adirondacks in the Twenty-First Century organized by Governor Mario Cuomo in the late 1980's and was an assistant editor at ADIRONDACK LIFE magazine before that. He has served on a number of advisory committees for Adirondack Park environmental and community development issues. Peter has undergraduate and graduate degrees from the State University of New York. He enjoys all sorts of outdoor recreation including hiking, canoeing, camping, hunting and fishing. He lives in Lake George with his wife Cathleen Collins and two children, Jake and Emma.

Kathleen Bozony - Natural Resource Specialist:
In April 2008, Kathy Bozony was hired as Natural Resource Specialist to work with the Lake George Waterkeeper. Kathy graduated from Paul Smith's College with a bachelor's degree in Natural Resource / Environmental Science. Her studies included concentrations in Wetlands and Watershed Management, Land Use Planning, Forest History and Ecology, Environmental Impact Assessment and Environmental Law. Kathy was most recently employed with the Lake George Association where her work was focused on Land Use and development issues that sought to encourage local boards to enforce current regulations and implement environmentally appropriate recommendations for development applications in order to minimize the cumulative impacts on Lake George's water quality. Emphasis remains on stormwater management including use of vegetative buffers and rain gardens, on-site waste water treatment (OWTS), wetland and stream corridor protection, density calculations, tree clearing and responsible use of conservation subdivisions. Prior to employment at the LGA, Kathy was the Administrator for the Association for the Protection of the Adirondacks and a Research Assistant for the Adirondack Watershed Institute where she set up and completed the first year of a 3-year study to analyze the effects of Eurasian watermilfoil management in Upper Saranac Lake.

Chris Navitsky - Lake George Waterkeeper:
Chris Navitsky has been the Lake George Waterkeeper for six years; a program initiated by the Fund for Lake George in 2002. The Lake George Waterkeeper program utilizes engineering and science based approach to defend the natural public resources of Lake George and its basin for the common good of the watershed and community. Chris has been recognized as the 2005 Conservationist of the Year by the Adirondack Council and has been featured in publications such as Adirondack Life. Chris is a graduate from the SUNY - College of Environmental Science and Forestry at Syracuse University in environmental engineering and a licensed Professional Engineer in New York and Pennsylvania. Prior to becoming the Waterkeeper, Chris worked for 16 years in consulting engineering focused on site development and municipal engineering with strengths in wastewater design, stormwater management and erosion control. The Lake George Waterkeeper is a member of Waterkeeper Alliance which has over 175 waterkeepers protecting waterbodies around the world.

Emily Oswald - Administrative Coordinator:
Emily Oswald is the Fund for Lake George's Administrative Coordinator; joining the team in August 2007. Her previous work experience includes National Park Ranger, administrative assistant, environmental intern and administrative coordinator at a non-profit organization. Emily graduated with a BA in Environmental Studies: Human Sciences and Policy from Green Mountain College in 2005. She also has certificates of completion in grant writing and project management. Her professional goals include environmental advocacy, land use planning and grant writing.
